New Ranger owner in Nebraska
Hey there all...Just bought the Ranger a few days ago, cause it was just a deal that I couldnt pass up. Its a 92 Supercab XLT 4X4, auto w/ the 4.0 V6. The body is in real good shape, had a few rust spots over the rear wheel well and in the bottom outside corner of the bed. I got it from my In-laws neighbor who used it to get to work everyday. He said a few months ago it started wanting to die at stoplights and didnt want to idle. He got used to doing the left foot right foot thing and didnt look into having it fixed. The shocks were shot and the muffler was gone. The 4wd does work but wants to really bind up and hop the front in a slow tight turn. So what was the screamin deal you say? Well, lets put it this way, the idle problem was the MAF Unit ($75), I put new shocks all around ($85), I put a new muffler on it ($30) and lastly got it registered and plated ($55) with ALL of that done I have a total of $525 spent on this truck...I love finding good deals..Oh and it has only 114K on the engine and I found a reciept in the glove box from Certified Transmission for a reman. Tranny that was installed @ 84K at a cost of $2K. I'll be posting more as I do things to this baby...Happy Thanksgiving!!...
