Howdy from Wichita
Hi all,
A coworker donated a 2002 Ranger XLT, 4cyl manual to me as a way to support the volunteer work I do on the weekends helping elderly, poor neighbors resolve nuisance violations on their property. I've replaced the clutch and transmission and have aome minor work left to get it roadworthy. Im glad I found a site with so many knowledgable folks!

You have a 2.3l DOHC Duratec engine and an M5R1(M5OD-R1) transmission in a 2002 Ranger
2.3l Duratec is a good reliable engine, Ford uses the Turbo version, 2.3l ecoboost, in the new 2019 and up Rangers
M5R1 is also reliable, it does use ATF, yes automatic transmission fluid in a manual transmission, so never put gear oil in it, like most manuals used
