Introduction
Hello everyone. My name is Greg and I recently bought a 1993 ford ranger xlt with a 2.3l engine and 5 speed transmission. I am very pleased with it as it has given me little problems so far but I have ran into a snag that maybe you can help me with. My parking brake light went out a while back and I took it to Pep Boys to have it anylyzed as it is required to work to pass inspection here in Virginia. Having it hooked to the computer they said the problem is the diode ( which is located in the engine compartment wrapped with electrical tape inside a wiring harness). My problem is locating a replacement part. The local ford dealership doesn't seem to know what it is and they want me to take it out and show them or let their service department work on it which will cost several hundred dollars. Does anyone possibly know what the part number is and outside of going to the junk yard where I can get this diode .. hopefully new. thanks
