Everett
My name is Tom. I'm a motorcycle-junkie. Bought a 99 Ford Ranger XLT 2WD back in May from a retired farmer, to replace my aging and poor condition Jeep GC. My 16yr/old daughter drives it 90% of the time. She calls it her truck, and named it "Everett" because we bought it off a guy named Pete.
Everett is by no means a beauty, was in very poor condition cosmetically, particularly the interior (after all, it was mostly a farm truck), but after spending many hours cleaning the seats and interior with a commercial grade carpet cleaner, it turned out pretty good. I changed the oil and filters, performed some other minor mechanical fixes, and it has been serving us very well since. On Day-1 we were using it to haul mulch for my FIL, we've hauled our kayaks to the lake, rescued a motorcycle friend that had broken down several hours from home, and my daughter has used it for her daily transportation to work and school. Well... up until last week, when Everett lost power and sputtered to the side of the road. Hasn't run since.
Which... is pretty much why I'm here. I fear the worst, but I will be doing some research, and if I can't find the answers I'm looking for, may make a post explaining my problem(s) in a different message.
