Old Ranger fan on the prowl

Hey my name is Jordan, I started of with my first truck being a 92 Ranger 3.0 5sp 2wd my grandpa bought new and gave to me and loved every minute I spent running the wheels off it. When I turned 18 I bought a brand new Chrome yellow 01 Edge reg cab flareside 4wd 4.0 5sp and have regretted trading it since the day I gave it up. When I traded it it had a 5/3 lift and 33" bfgs and a bangin system, absolutely loved that truck and have tried to buy another one several times but it seems impossible to find thos regular cab sohc 4.0 5 speed trucks, they only made them in 01 if I remember correctly, had to get the ext cab to the the 4.0 in 02. Anyway after 2 years with that I traded for a new 03 Island Blue Sport Trac Limited which road like a dream but stayed mostly stock other than the sound system and some rims. Now I drive a lifted Yellow 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser with long travel suspension and lockers.. My priorities have definitely changed over the years and I've become a huge Toyota fan, I've owned over a dozen 80's Toyota pickups and 4Runners and a few Land Cruisers in the mix, I'm more interested in adventure touring, expedition style off-roading, and rock crawling more than style these days. So why am I here? I have a need for a good work truck and I feel like it would be a good opportunity to scratch an old itch of wanting another Ranger, I'm hoping to find a regular cab 4wd 5sp with either V6 in decent dependable condition for me to drive for work. I live in south eastern Indiana near the Ohio line, about 10 miles from Haspin Acres off road park if any of you are familiar. I also own an tuned 07 Yamaha R1 and my newest baby an 11 HD Night Rod Special, Saturday and Sunday you can guarantee to find me on a trail or bangin through the switchbacks on a bike. Mon-Fri you can find me on the fj or R1 forum dreaming about it. Any guidance to a good Ranger would be greatly appreciated, I've browsed through the classifieds and messaged a few but any other sources would be great to know about. Thanks and good to meet you all :)

Thanks man :) I figured it may be difficult to find some common ground being a yota guy but most can agree on bikes lol.

Thanks anything could be the one!! I'm pretty open minded really, hoping to keep it under $3k not super concerned about appearance but hoping to avoid body rust. Definitely no frame rust that could be a structural issue. I don't expect to get a truck to last long in that price range but if I can get something with a decent body on it I'm hoping to use it for a year or so and do 5.0 swap and fix it up later. I've always wanted to do a full explorer 5.0 drivtrain swap and make an awd ranger w/ rear disc that sat low and handled.. a typhoon competitor if you will lol.

Yeah 4wd is a must, I drive over 100 miles a lot of days rain snow or shine.. Newer is better but no limit on age so long as it's nice. Trying to avoid 2.9 motors, speaking of which there is a very clean reg cab short bed 2.9 manual 4wd for $600 with LOTS of new parts that needs a clutch in case that interests anyone. The manager at the local parts store bought it from my buddy that went crazy tuning it up last summer and the clutch just went out. Anyway, like I said newer is better.. I'd love to get an 01 Edge but in my price range it isn't likely. I couldn't care less about miles on the clock though, so long as the truck seems straight.

Actually that isn't right, the slave cylinder went out I was just considering buying it and planned to do the clutch while I was in there...

Nice R1. I really want a r6. I might be selling my dirt bike here in the spring and putting that towards a r6. Any aftermarket performance parts?
