Newbee to trucks
Hello,
I live in MN and we get a good amount of snow. I have been looking at ranger's for a long time. I have decided that I'm going to buy a truck by next Nov. (I have to pay off my current car first)
I'm am someone that likes to help people so I really want to get a truck for everyone else
:-)
I want to help people move,
Rescue my friends when there's 20 inches of snow and they're stranded because their car can't make it though the snow
Pull friends out of the ditch.
Tow something for them. Nothing huge
I have a friend who has to shovel his alley it would be cool if I could do it for him, I would also like to be able to plow other small parking lots. I have friends who live in a town home and the people who plow it do a bad job. It would be cool if I could come and make a path way for them.
I'm hoping a ranger can meet my needs.

The Ranger should be able to do all of that but I would get a 4.0L and not the 3.0L.
If you are going to be doing a lot of plowing the Ranger should do it but a larger truck will do it with more ease and be able to push more snow. From my little research on plows for the Ranger they only sell home driveway style plows. They cannot stack the snow as high as a standard plow that is on a full size truck.
In saying all that, I have had a 3/4 ton in the past and my Ranger suits me fine right now. I also have a home made 5x7 trailer to help me out with the begger stuff. I plow my 100' driveway and about 200' of my side of the road with an '87 Toyota (same size as Ranger but 4cyl) with no real problems. Last winter I even used it to plow about a 500' (gravel) path to my back yard.
