New from Chicago

hello everyone!
my name is Joe, I live on the north side of Chicago, and i drive a 94' ranger xlt. its a daily driver, used for work and play. nothing special under the hood, nothing special to look at but its a solid machine and gets the job done. i do a majority of my own maintenance and repair, even though i might not know exactly what I'm doing. definitely not afraid to try something new.... after I've done some research of course. drop me a line if your in the Chicago area!

Thanks for reading!

Thanks everyone. I've started a photo album called "my old truck". They are from a while back. I'll get some new ones today.

Hey Joe, I'm just down the street from ya...I've gotten 6 great years out of my XLT since we got it new when gas was in the $4.25 zone. Not quite the gas sipper I thought it would be. We bought it at Elmhurst Ford and I never had to take it back to any dealer for anything. We'll thats for repairs but I did spend some time at Westfield Ford in Countryside to order lots of up grades to my then bland looking truck. It was a dealer trade from Iowa and I never asked about trim level thinking that the XLT would of had some chrome on it....somewhere!!!! Other then the metallic grey paint and 2.3 and the 5 speed auto power windows and mirrors it looked like a delivery truck for a parts store with the textured black grill and unpainted bumpers. Other then the look upgdades the rest of the truck is as it was new. I did swap out the heavy duty shocks and OEM tires to smooth out the ride. I added the spray on bed liner and cover and a hitch just because... and a set of Torque Thrust D's Vintage Rims with BFG's Radial T/A'a for the summer months.....LOL. Its my daily driver and then some.

The ranger is autozones truck of choice for delivery.
Pretty much everything is stock on my truck. I have been contemplating new rims and possibly a set of snow tires for the winter. I rarely get stuck, if I have good shovel with me....
I put on some new front shocks and new front brake pads today. It rides so much smoother now! Gotta do the rears now! I should get something study for those, often I carry around lots of tools, ladders and equipment for my job.
I do have a plastic bed liner, and tool box in the back. The box was a nice addition due to the lack of space in the cab.
