New in town plugs question

I recently purchased a 2000 ford Ranger and of course ran into some difficulty right away with that pesky flex fuel sensor. Check engine light was on and the repair shop said the code was something they had never seen so posted the problem here and received some good advice on dealing with flex fuel sensors. I ordered a bypass unit for 150.00 instead of a new one from ford for 650.00 sure hope it works. The shop I took my Ranger to said that the left bank was running rich I am hoping the bypass will take care of it. Shop all so told me that the AC delco plugs where not the right plugs for the truck and suggested I use Motorcraft platinum plugs instead but a 6 bucks a shot I am hoping for a less expensive solution. any thoughts on this? Thanks gotaford
