You should probably check Advanced Adapters website.I would bet you will need a custom made adapter and I would bet it would be expensive, there are so many factors to consider when doing this type swap. If memory serves me correctly Ford offered a diesel ranger at one time. it might be easier to go with a different engine than the GM engine. just my 2 cents.

there is no possible way to adapt a Mazda 5 speed to an Olds diesel engine. There is no adapter sold for that. You will have to use the transmission designed for the engine. Good luck with the swap. Make a project log and keep us informed.

may have to use olds auto tranny as well but would like to use trany in truck - this peticular eng was only made 2 years and were crotch rockets
any olds automatic bolt pattern or chey dual automatic trany will bolt right up to this engine

I did some research and the first generation Rangers did have an available diesel, one made 59hp and the second one made 86hp. They were discontinued in 1987. They were made for Ford by other companies.
