Im from maine and picked up a 400.00 beater truck. This little ranger has the 8 plug 2.3L motor in it. Well me being the obsesive guy I am, I have now found a 2.3tc motor with 90k on it sitting in a guys garage with tranny and wireharnes but no ecu for a woping 450.00. I plan on putting this on a motor stand and building 275-300hp motor for a street truck to use every day . I have been looking all over then net and thought I would join you guys to see who out there can be a build buddy to help me do this right lol. I seew a few old threads but dont want to be the new guy that bumps up 2yearold threads so any one feel free to pm me.

turboford.net has lots of info for building the motor, but they are mostly svo and tc guys there. few rangers but they have tons of info.

What year truck is it? What year motor did you get?

 

my truck is a 91 but not sure if im going to put it in that one or look for a newer truck with a better body.The 2.3 I have is from a 88 tc and I just found out it is coming with a LB3 and wire harnes. The motor is compleat and ready to run but i plan on tearing it down and having the head redone and doing a rebuild . I would like to pull 275hp out of it for every day use . I would also like to build the motor to hold 400 hp but then tune it down to 275 to get a long life out of it. Please give me any tips you migh have or any do and donts I should watch out for.
