New guy from Houston

Hey, my name's Roger and I'm from the Houston area. I got my Ranger in May. It's my first vehicle, and I have lots of plans for it.

I plan on a K&N pretty soon, a crank pulley, cat-back, 31/10.50/15 tires and new wheels, a spray in liner, possibly a bedcap, and a bunch of other mods. The only mod I'm running now is TC mod, if you can call that a mod lol.

Welcome! I have basically the same truck, and I would go with 32x11.5x15s. They fit great stock and I actually got better mileage with stock with them and the 4.10 gears. Also I would look at a Volant intake instead of K&N. The K&N doesn't come with a full heat shield like the Volant does.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, and 04blackedge, what kind of mileage do you get with the 32's & 4.10's? I get around 16 but that's about 95% city. I can get around 23 mpg going 55 on trips. Anyway, I am going to order my intake and probably a crank pulley and an alternator pulley in the next few weeks. Thanks again.

That's pretty good, I keep it below 3000 rpm and I still get a 15-16 - and that's running A/C minimally in Tx heat.

Used some engine cleaner, careful around intake and electrical parts, then used CD2 engine detailer, worked pretty good.

I plan on it soon. I am going to get it sprayed with line-x after I lifted the liner up to find a lot of scratches, oh well, at least it doesn't allow water to get in between the liner and the bed. It came with the truck so I think I'll sell it on craigslist for $50ish.

We had some roof damage, but we live in Baytown so we didn't flood. We have had power since the moday after the storm - had no power for only 3 days, we were lucky. We had a leak and the ceiling collapsed in the spare bedroom, that sucked. Hope all you Houston members are alright.

Hi Roger. Nice truck! Welcome to the R-F club. I used to work for a steel mill here in PA, and we shipped seamless tubing to our Baytown facility by the railcar load daily.
