New member in Alaska Ranger shopping
Hi guys.
I'm in Southeast Alaska and decided to try a 4x4 Ranger as my next driver. I have been going thru all the message forums, educating myself on which model '01-07 Ranger I want to look for. My goal is 6" lift with 33's on 10" rims. We will be in Washington/ Idaho several times this summer with cash in hand looking for the perfect truck. Once I find one, I'll start a build thread. |
Nice plan you have there. What kind of lift do you think you are going to go with, suspension, body, or both?
I wish you the best of luck in your search for a perfect ranger. Try to snag an fx4 level 2 if you can. |
I'm still looking thru all the ads in the NW.
I loved the Ranger wheel reference page. It showed a lot of body styles and colors, some I wouldn't have chosen previously. I will start a thread soon on what to look for AFTER I do a thorough search as not to repeat the noob thread repeat. Right now a Superlift is looking decent price wise. I build custom one off vehicles as a hobby so making my own suspension isn't out of the question. As a daily driver, I don't want to go too extreme. I just did a 6" on a '97 4runner and made my own "Artic Truck Flares", hood scoop, offroad bumpers and roof visor. http://i59.tinypic.com/15ge93m.jpg I converted a S-10 to front coilovers and made a 4x4 '37 Chevy Sedandelivery that looks like a 2wd street rod. The body is fiberglass. http://i41.tinypic.com/209hlj9.jpg I have a steel bodied delivery waiting for a restoration next winter. http://i44.tinypic.com/27z9ll0.jpg I usually build one custom per year as a hobby with my wife in our garage. Most get shipped to our eastern Washington home and sit in a 40'x60' shop. The Toyota was given to me last Sept. I did all the work in the pict in three months and sold it last Sat. I hope to share some cool one off stuff once I start rolling.... |
