I bought my 2000 Ranger xlt back in april and have been enjoying owning it since. It's not my daily driver, so it sits alot in the garage. I would like to swap the engine out with something that's never been done before. Either a built up V-12, or V-10 to go in there and make crazy horsepower. I know it's not going to be an easy "plug and play" but that's the advantage of being a project car that's kept in the garage. I've modified cars before; however, i'm new to the trucking world. Back in 2000, my Ford Focus made it into the magazine Sport Compact Car, (I don't even know if that magazine is still around), because of the modifying I did, but mostly because of the network of friends that I had when I lived in south Florida. Now i'm up here in Illinois and want to get to work modifying this Ranger. So far, i've swapped the headlights, front turn signals out and changed fluids etc. Nothing too major. I have a long list of things that need to be done to keep me busy for a little while. Anyways, I look forward to chatting with you guys/gals and being a part of this ranger community.
Welcome to the forum
The engine bay in Ranger's limits types of engines that fits, between frame rails and between firewall and front grill
If larger engine is wanted then mounting engine in the bed with "V" drive might be a better option, I doubt this type of build would be done to haul firewood, lol
