South Carolina newbie

98 ranger 4.0 owner since 2000. Thinking of adding more power items and hoping for info here from others.

Welcome to R-F. There aren't a lot of options as far as power items go for our trucks. Most stuff that people do.. throttle body spacers, cold air intakes, etc.. are gimmicks and don't provide any real gains. Most people that want more real power buy a different vehicle, or swap in a built 5.0 from an explorer.

You can also look into getting a supercharger.

Yea that too. Not too many budget friendly options for more power.

That's the case no matter what vehicle you're talking about. Increases in power (noticeable ones at least) are never cheap.

Drew (OP).. it all comes down to what you want to do and what your budget is. There are options.. as mentioned.. 5.0 swap from explorer.. supercharger.. etc. There are plenty of threads on those topics alone, I would search through here.. and there are some write-ups on TRS (The Ranger Station) about them also.
