Noooob 97 Ranger owner - Houston, TX
Hi everyone,
I picked up a bagged & bodied 1997 Ranger in a trade a few weeks ago and the couple of times I had a question I was able to quickly find the answer here. I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions in the near future so I figured I'd go ahead and sign up. It was on the cover of Minitruckin in 2008 but has been abused since then so I'm in the process of cleaning up everything that was done wrong or done half a$$ed...I drove it home 2 hours from where the guy lived so it was running & driving not too long aga but currently the bed is off and I removed all of the old air line, fittings, all wiring for air suspension and the old rear bags. I have all of the new parts to be installed but decided to paint the chassis in the rear before installing anything because the blue color that it is now was done by someone who has no idea how to prep and/or paint...going with textured black for the chassis. My trade was worth around $3k at the most so despite the Ranger being abused, I think it was a good trade for me. The custom frame/suspension was done by Nfamus in Mansfield, TX so the owner back in 08 spent a nice chunk of change having it done correctly. If you Google Rockered Ranger a few pics come up with a link to the article. Here are a couple pics of how of how it sits now and how it sat back in 2008...

I know right?! I normally won't buy/trade for other people's problems but its such a good foundation to start with since the suspension work, bodydrop etc. were done professionally, and mechanically it is still solid, only has 117k miles. I would love to know what he got whenever the guy who owned it back in 08 sold it...Even when it was still clean & looking good I'd be surprised if he got more than what he spent just on the work done at Nfamus.
