Lurker from da 'You Pee'
Not quite a purist since my Ranger is actualy a Mazda B-4000. Same assembly line, same workers. Not my first Ranger, my first was an '86 longbed 4x4 with the 2.9 and the A4OD tranny. My second Ranger was a '75 longbed F-250 2x4 Camper Special with a 390 gas sucking [7mpg] engine. Now I have a '94 B-4000 Xcab 4x4 with the M5OD tranny that gives 3x the milage. It is red with Mazdas' XLT package. A very clean machine with no rust as the truck spent most of its life in New Jersey. Any '94 4x4 truck with 177.xxx here in da 'You Pee' with no rust is as scarce as hens teeth. And for only the cost of having an exhaust put on it, I ain't complaining about what I paid for it... When "Mother Superior" decides to dump a foot of snow while yer out hunting, geting out of da bush is paramount. As with my '86 Ranger, this machine does the job, and does it well. It's big enough to carry my quad in its bed, yet small enough to to get me to my favorite fishing holes. Favorite because the big boys can't squeeze in. A huge plus for getting away from the big city/big money/big truck riff-raff from downstate. My only planned mod is an extension off the back of the bed for my '15 jonboat to be supported on. To hunt/fish/camp, this truck is just what I want for here in 'da You Pee', eh!. Large enough for me, my owner [aka wife] and 2 dogs, and small enough to get me into the good spots. Places where the new Dakota's and Colorado's fear to tread due to their size.
Too bad Ford is probably going to duplicate their mistake of thinking bigger is better, sometimes that isn't the answer. On this prediction I hope to have to eat crow.

I knew that the 'ganders would pick UP on it pretty quick, but I figured that this would be a good way to to get those from other points around the country a reason to scratch their heads wondering where I'm from. It worked!
Thanx all for your welcome...
as I said, I've beem lurking around this site since I was given the truck back in Sept.

Michigan Tech, home of some of the most fantastic Ice Sculptures one can imagine, and coming soon. I guess I put 'da U.P.' on the map. Love it when my imagination works. Da "You Pee" rocks all seasons. Name your pleasure, we got it. Swimming in the pristine Lake Superior can be a bit chilly, though. Spring, as it does in northern states, while beautiful, also brings out the biting flys and ticks. This season is reserved for Turkey hunters and other masochists, such as trout fishermen and folks like me who like to come home as mudmen after riding our quads.
So now a lot more folks are aware of where God's Country is.
As soon as the water is open my jonboat is going back to Lake Angeline, 400yds away.

Glad I joined FX
Way off subject, but I saw a UFO while on Silver Lake back in '67 while on a boat with my dad and brother-in-law. Since all three of us watched it asking wtf is that??? it wasn't just my imagination. 3 people don't view something like that at the same time and come to the same conclusion if it wasn't 'real'.
Being from Brighton you know where that lake is...
