Retired Marine, Reno, NV, 2007 Ranger Sport

I guess out of frustration I found this great forum. Although there are a lot of things I can't do to my truck mechanically I still seem to find enjoyable ways to improve the looks and function of my little truck. I'm sure this site will give me many ideas and make my days a little more enjoyable. So here I am , and thanks for having me!

Well Reno's changed. I have my uncle with me and he was a cab driver back in the 50's when Reno was the divorce capital of the world. Lots of movie stars came here to be seen and get quickie divorces and they always stayed at the Hotel Mapes. You probably wouldn't know much about the early reno from the looks of your souped up ranger. It definitely says youth oriented. I still feel that young inside but a little crickety outside. I livd in Vegas for about 3 years before I came back to Reno. North Las Vegas right off Anne Road. Sometimes I miss it, but like the cooler air here.

Well I have a small problem with my Ranger sport. I bought this Bestop soft camper top to install, couldn't afford a hard top right now. Goin to Florida for a while in early February. Well I started the install and immediately could not get the clamps to even fit properly when installing the side rails.

The manufacturer says the clamps are right, but my local camper shell shop on Kietsky Lane says there's no way they will work. I don't want to drill to attach. So I'm sitting here looking at this silly top and it should have been installed days ago.

Looks like I'm about 10 years earlier than you. I was in Pendleton in 1968 as I was going to Westpac.

I was at New River Helicopter base in Jacksonville, NC before Vietnam. Spent 16 months at Marble Mountain, Hue City and Quang tree. Got out in 1970. Thanks for welcome.
