Have a 1992 Ford Ranger 2WD, 2.3 L. EFI engine, pushing 200K miles on it. Having some trouble passing HC emissions test: CA smog.

only the Hydrocarbon emissions. 121 measured and the limit is about 93 or so.

I am checking everything. NO stored codes, timing is right, Vacuum OK, computer tests performed so far are all OK. New plugs, wires, electronic spark module, Oxygen sensor, etc.
Oil and filter. Air filter looks clean. More testing tomorrow.

That sucks man. Any exhaust leaks, missing CATs? Emissions are no fun, and re-testing it and failing again just gets expensive. Wish you luck on that. Might search on here, see if anybody else has had similar issues and what their solution was. I'm sure that lots of people have had emissions issues on here.

Do have access to a scanner?
I had a similar problem with my mustang.
It turned out to be the gas tank line sensor
