    Hi Ken,

    You are spot on about the battery connection. It was the connection between the wires and the battery clamp. This one really threw me off, since the click sounded like a big power relay. Also the Theft light would keep working. Another thing that started happening was that sometimes the doom light would not come on when reconnecting the battery but there would be clicking noise (like a relay) coming from under the dash. I thought this was from the keyless entry or a aftermarket alarm.
    I will post about the battery cables but this could be a good exercise in remembering to check the basics at the source first. I also want to put a photo up of three fuse links wired into the engine wire loom to see if it is stock.
