Hey John! Long time no talk. Haven't heard or seem much around from ya. This sounds really annoying to me but I was wondering if you may be able to help me. Remember last time I was down and was having that problem with my truck? Well it hasn't gone away and it is continuously getting worse. I have now replaced my intake and head gaskets and am getting pretty deep into the cost of my repairs. I was wondering if you had any parts laying around and if you might want to help me swap factory with my aftermarket parts to maybe find this bugger. I can't even drive without my maf unplugged otherwise it stalls whenever I push in the clutch. Ridiculous if I do say so myself. Anyways I hope all goes well in your world either way and thank you for all the help in the past.

To use the 2002 engine in the 99 whoever installed it would have had to use the 99 wiring on the motor(or convert the truck to the 2002 wiring, probably not) This includes swapping out the fuel injectors. If the 98 and 99 trucks are both flex fuel or both non flex fuel its a really easy swap, the motor will go right in and plug in. If one is flex fuel and the other is non flex fuel you will have to use the engine wiring and injectors from the from the truck you are fixing. The engine and tranny can be pulled together but I recommend draining the trans or you will have a mess, it will probably leak a little anyway. As lang as you use the existing computer you won't have any pats issues. The cab is probably 500-800 lbs depending on what you remove. Good luck with the project.

I have a 98 ext cab 4x4, auto 3.0....I also have a parts truck 99 reg cab auto 2x4, 3.0 with the engine and tranny from a 2002 in it. Can the engine and tranny be pulled out together and will there be a pats issue? Also how heavy is the complete cab, if I want to remove it with the fenders attached...might as well restore the chassis while I'm at it....thanks for any help....John

Thats easy, it all just bolts on. You will end up with an extra turn signal bulb. You can tape over it or install an electronic flasher and eliminate it.
