Post a classified ad?

My dad donated our two 35mm slr's to kids with ads on craigslist for their photography class. Might try that out. Maybe even try out some photography forums too. Good luck.

How about a Canon Rebel, digital SLR, 8 MP ?
Used it for two years.
Body only no lenses.
$150

That’s plus shipping… sorry I didn’t mention it before from zipper 01930.

From what I am told any Canon Lens will work BUT IMHO you want the lenses that are designed for a Digital Cameras and I like the IS Lenses (Image Stability) help steady the lens when shooting slow speeds.
Another thing to remember about digital SLRs, and choosing lenses, there is a multiplier you need to take into consideration of approximately 1.5.

If you buy a Tele-Zoom, 28-135mm you are really getting 42-200mm so you have to think about what you want to do with a lens and how much magnification you really want.

Also, look for used lenses, there are good ones out there.

Anyways let me know.

p.s. If you are thinking about this one look at the older Rebel Cameras for data on it, this one only has through the View Finder viewing not on the rear panel.

So theres no digital screen

Scrambler82 02-19-2010 03:58 PM

There is a digital screen and you can view each shot after you take it and view the memory card after the shoot but not as the picture is being taken.

Does your photography class require a 35MM SLR?

You were specific about a 35mm SLR. This is different than a DSLR.

I “assumed” he was referencing the format of the Camera more than actual film.

As you said, if FILM is needed then this isn’t the right camera but if digital is OK this is a good starter camera.

didnt think of that .... im gonnna go ahead and hold off until i talk with the instructor on which is better ... im pretty sure it doesnt matter film or digital ... ill get back to you on that one

Scrambler82 02-20-2010 07:45 AM

fx4wannbe, good idea to talk to the teach about the class requirements.

BUT, IMHO, a Photography Class in a digital age, that doesn’t teach digital isn’t up to date.

Remember one thing about photography, IMHO, this is… it isn’t the camera that makes the picture it’s the one looking through the view finder.

Good Luck on the Photo Class, it has to be the best feeling when you have captured a picture that is “it”. The correct light, the correct exposure and you found the best angle, it turns out like no other and ends up on the Cover of National Geographic, OK so it will be a while but aim high and take a lot of pictures because you can delete but you may never find the right spot again.

fx4wannabe 02-27-2010 03:51 PM

sorry scrambler but i got one for free ... its a minolta film camera ... jeff if you have any pictures of those lenses we could set up a price and i might consider it

Scrambler82 02-28-2010 05:10 AM

Free is for mw too.

Good Luck in the Photography Class.

If you know anyone in the Class that might want the Body to an entry level digital Canon SLR let me know.

ltr,
