So, I'm obviously new to the forums, as in I just joined yesterday. Ok, now that that's out of the way, on to the project idea.

As the title describes, I've got my hands on an '89 2.3L. I bought it second hand, w/ 218k miles, what I believe to be a 4" lift (unsure as to if body or suspension, I'll post pictures later today), and a set of tires from a ditch witch, which I do not have on currently. My plan is to mildly build the 351 (lumpy cam, domes, unsure what heads, longtubes, etc.), lift it about 8" more, throw some 35"s on it, and swap the 351 into the Ranger. I want to keep the dual sticks, and my question is, what tranny/trans case would you guys recommend?

For most of the fabrication, I have access to a fab/machine shop (where I currently work) to care for such problems. If anyone has done such a swap on this bodystyle, I would be more than grateful to be pointed towards that thread, as I was unable to find anything through my searches. Any comments/questions/concerns/etc would help out as well. Thanks again ahead of time guys!
