Can this be done?
Has anyone ever cut up a 4dr crewcab...are the skeletons are the same as the 2dr?
I know interior panels can be swapped.
I got an 08 fx4 and somedays I could use a rear door to toss stuff in.

I just looked. one has 4drs the other 2
Just was wondering if anybody has ever done any body work.

 

I mean a 2dr extended cab.
Can I get a t boned cab take off one rear door and mount it.
Knowing Ford I would think the skeletons are the same.
Just need the bracing for the hinges.
I should of paid more attention when I added a jump seat.

 

The structure of the cabs are completely different. And it would be one hell of a job to add a door. You're better off looking for a whole new cab and swap 'em. You sir, didn't do your homework and bought the wrong truck.


Sidenote: I was unaware Ford ever made any Fx4 that wasn't a 4dr. Post pics??

I was tripping over my good fortune to see this model in great used condition and price.
Had a no problem 94 4cyl 2dr for 15yrs to an 2005 lariat scab that had ac gate door problems to this 2008 fx4 2dr extended cab...rangers like the T still easy to wrench on.
Yes, rare to see a black on black 2008 FX4 bone stock with x-line already in. It's all good the back is like a huge box with astro tuff for the dog and I put in a jump seat on the passenger side for an emergency third.
I figured if I really did my homework I'd would be in a smoother riding rig with way better gas mileage... like a toy or pilot or even the sport trac.
