Projectors! another thread for em...

Ok, ive seen some projector headlights on Ebay and i think they look like ***. I dont like how they use the parking light instead of the headlamp for the projector because it looks weird to me. Soooo i wanted to see if i could find a projector that would take the place of the larger reflector in the stock housing rather than cutting out a projector and popping that in the middle of the big reflector. (IMO, that can make a cleaner install and still look stock from a distance)

I found this...

65-78 FORD MUSTANG HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT H4 66 67 68:eBay Motors (item 120389831554 end time Jul-07-09 19:44:36 PDT)

Does anyone here think this might work if i modified a stock housing and tried to get it to fit? WOULD a 7" round light fit in the stock housing? or something similar anyway. Would this work with an aftermarket HID setup from Ebay? or is the projector a no no with the aftermarket HID setup?

Just running things through my mind and looking for feedback or if anyone has done it. I searched and didnt really find what i have in mind. Just other styles of projector swaps.

Not at all. I was looking for something to replace the large reflector that is used in our truck's stock headlight assembly. The current projectors i see on Ebay look alot like this -

IMO, i dont like the fact that the projector takes the place of the turn signal. It looks goofy when they are turned on and the truck looks crosseyed.

The reason i posted the Mustang housings from Ebay is that they are about 7" round, so my idea was to take the stock Ranger housings, cut out the stock reflector, and bond these new 7" lamps into place, so i can still use the stock turn signal, and keep a somewhat stock appearance.

Looking for an end result similar to this (Id rather NOT have the halos, but hey, you get it) YES its a crappy photoshop too, but im just trying to get an idea across lol.
I just figure replacing the whole reflector is easier and cleaner than having just the small projector visible, or moving the lamp from its stock location in the hosuing.

i think those are for 98-00 body styles...

thats why theres no turn signals in them. because the 98-00's have a housing under the headlight for that.

and just do your own retro. get some good projectors. if you want hi/low projectors try the ones out of the infinity fx35/45

or if you'll be happy with lows only try some s2k projectors or tsx projectors. both have awesome output. and aren't too expensive..
