broken exhaust=chop it off!

so about 5 months ago one of my dual exhaust pipes completely rusted through and broke off from weekends of four wheelin. luckily it broke off right after the muffler so it was a clean break. since my exhaust was dual pipes coming out the sides now i only have one on the right side. i like the look of my left side with no exhaust showing so im pretty sure im just going to chop the right exhaust pipe off right at the muffler. anyone else running chopped exhaust like that?

Yes, usually termed 'dumped' exhaust. I personally like the look.

My passenger side dual broke off, I think it rubbed on the leaf pack. Im about to cut the other side and dump it behind the axle and put some tips on it.

I just had a Flowmaster 40 put on my truck and it still sounded stock, so I chopped the exhaust and dumped it at the muffler and while it's a little louder, it's still not as annoyingly loud as I'd hoped for.

Give it time, it'll break in, then it will be louder.

i chopped it all off and i was losing power from the back pressure being uneven. so as soon as i chopped the other pipe off and had it dumped i noticed i have more response on the take off and even on the freeway. used to never be able to put my truck in 5th gear...running 31's on 3.73 gears on a 3.0...but i drove for 5 hours this weekend and was able to push it out at 85...never did that before without struggling. anyone else who is running dumped exhaust notice that?

I'm finding performance improvements with the muffler dumped. Seems a little more responsive all through all RPMs.
