I've got an 03 edge stepside and im looking for some black headlight and tail light lenses without looking ricey. anyone point me in the right direction?

Those smoked LED tails are rice looking. Anything with a chrome or CF backing looks rice IMO.

With the black headlight/corner lights off eBay, I've always liked these tails to match the style.

I've had these ones since 04, some niteshade would look good on them.



I'd personally stay away from the LED ones off eBay. Just get some regular style ones and do the L1224R mod to them, WAY better then the cheap LED ones.

 

I like those lights... How does it work exactly.. Like i know you need to have a red brake light for the tails but i dont see how that would work. Can someone explain this?

 

You use a red coloured bulb or LED 3157 bulb.

You can buy chrome covered incandescent bulbs that burn red, or just buy a regular red bulb. eBay's got those too.

On your 03, you have the 2 bulb harness(stop/signal/park and reverse), so the center hole can be used as a park lamp (need to splice in a harness) or just a turn, and make the bottom one just a park/brake.



They also have these ones, but it makes no sense to have the reverse lamp in the middle with the side reflector.

i recommend tail lights covers which u can get from any parts store but during the day is kind of hard to see with stock bulbs and stuff but i have LED set up so its not a problem

 

I would kind of agree, but I think altezza style lights are definitely "rice" or low-rider. There's also nothing wrong with the eBay LED lights. They are certainly just as good as the other eBay aftermarket tail lights. In my opinion, they are just as bright as the L1224R's based upon the video and pictures I've seen. Plus, they are definitely better than incandescent tail lights.

 

All the lights you guys posted are only up to 2008 are they the same for 2010?

 

All tail lights will fit from 93-2010. They are all the same size and shape. Pre 97 I believe are a 3 bulb set up where as after that Ford went with a 2 bulb harness. No difference in fitment of use.

 

it all depends where you live...i know where i live you can have lightly smoked taillights but you cant have anything on your headlights

 

why dont u just bake the lenses off ur lights and paint them black inside? thats what i did and a lot of ppl did and they look brand new when done

 

Paint the inside of stock tail lights black?? Never heard of that at all. A lot of people Niteshade their tails, or paint the headlights and corner lights black.

dont tint your tailights.. it looks stupid and is retarded when i cant tell when you hit your brakes.. and then you get rear ended and its your fault.

It's pretty much the same thing as the headlight mod...except it takes a lot longer for the taillight to come apart. I'm planning to do it whenever I get nice enough day and time haha
