Camper Shell / Bed Cap (Brake/Turn Signal Lights)

If I drilled into the camper shell, how horrible would that be, structural wise?

I don't have any brake or turn signal lighting above my tailgate, so I was thinking of adding it onto the bed cap.

Months down the road of course..

Just thinking, late at night...

Inside the top of the window is how I would go. You can get the one that goes in that shell at any place that sells that name brand shell.

My cap has a bracket where the 3rd brake light attaches. Of course it is in the way and is currently swinging from the wires in the bed.
