Changing Flaceplate color

Well Im gonna do the cluster and HVOC mod here soon and change them to blue. Only problem I have is that my radio (Pioneer DEH-P6500) has green backlighting. Ive taken it apart and looked at all the LEDs in it and am wondering if it would be worth the time to take the same glass paint used on the cluster and paint over the LEDs in blue. Or should I just save up and get a new radio. (Anyone want to trade? lol).

My experience painting leds was a complete failure. I tried to paint the stock head unit leds which are green with some red paint to match my gauges. The leds ended up shining through just as green as they where without paint.

If you're any good with electronics, you can de-solder the green LED's and put in another color of your choice.
