cheap lift?

hey guys
k so my first truck is a 1997 ford ranger, 4 cyl, 2.3L
i want to do a little bit of lift on it, not too much, im getting add a leafs for 2 inches in the rear, now for the front. i am wondering if i am able to just buy lift springs, say the 4" lift springs from skyjacker, and then just get a wheel alignment??
if that is completely useless and wont work, chill, im new to cars/trucks, i work on bikes and just wana learn, soooo i would appreciate the help, thanks!!!

A 3 inch body lift is like $150

yea, they say 4" but you might experience some sag. there is also the body lift option. if you are experiencing reverse rake you could also do a shackle on the rear and an AAL. that might give you 3-4 inches.

4 inch coils or leaf springs? cause you will need drop brackets to fit the coils. you could just get some leveling coils though

you could pick up coil spacers at advanced or somethin..since your doin 2 inches in the back grab a 2 inch spacer for each coil..wont sit level..itll sit stock..just 2 inches higher. there like 10 bucks. just make sure you get the circle ones and not the little block spacers. the block spacers will work for a while but they put too much stress on one tiny part of the coil. thatll snap for a while. the circular boot style puts even stress throughout the coil.
or you could be smart and buy a kit. in all honesty, if you cant afford a real kit..just throw a body lift. they are a bitch and a half to install but i never liked the idea of trying to mke your own lift when your just starting out working on trucks. trucks and bikes are different..
