Icon5 Custom Bumper help

I've got a 97 ranger and I'm lookin to put a new bumper on it. I want something bulkier and able to hold a winch since it's not exactly 4WD so I can get myself out of a tight spot if I'm ever by myself in the woods. I wanna maybe make my own, mainly because to have one made would be super expensive when I literally have all the equipment and materials I need at my house. All I'm lacking is the plans for one. Has anyone had any luck with finding any? Google seems to only give me ones I have to pay for, and that kinda defeats the purpose of building my own haha.

Honestly I think your best bet is to get some cardboard and go out and take some measurements.. cut and mock up the cardboard based on whatever design you want to go with.

Well what do you like? Some make bumpers out of steel plate and some make some out of steel tube

In that case, like RLong31 said, cardboard is a good place to start

yep get crafty. get ahold of a pile off really nice sturdy cardboard from a business etc. then start building a badass cardboard bumper piece by piece with tape. After you are satisfied, carefully remove all the tape/pieces and lable them so you know what they are and where they go.

Then just trace all your pieces out on plate and start cutting. Then tack them all into place, fully weld,grind,paint,enjoy...feel awesome
