Different Headlights and Grill?

Hey guys, I have a 2003 2WD XLT ranger and absolutely love the truck, but the headlights and the stock grill look a little... cheap? I know the truck is mostly unchanged from the 2000 and 2001 models. I was wondering if the older headlight assemblies and grill from a 2000 era ranger would fit my 2003 and if the sockets would be the same.

Just an idea ive been tossing around. Same goes for the taillights with yellow turn signals.

any ideas?

Hmm not too many people want to go older. Everything should fit on the front with a 98-00 header panel. The tails you can make work you would have to convert your two bulb setup to a three bulb set up like the 98-99s.

But he has an 03?
You would need to do a 01-06 to 98-00 swap in order to make the head lights fit. but then the grille would change. I'm not too sure about the bumper however.
But, you can interchange anything 01-12 as far as head light and tail lights with simple stuff.

You wouldnt really have to do a 2 bulb to 3 bulb conversion either, just not use the other socket on the tail light

I thought he would have to convert if he got the tails with the amber turn signals in them? And alex thats basically what I said. You would have to swap to 98-00 to get to a different style headlight. The bumper should work. IMO though the 98-00 headlights look cheaper than 01+. My suggestion is to get 06+ front marker lights and take a look around for the grill. I think there was 3 or 4 options from the 01-03s that would bolt in for ya.

been doing some more research on this idea. It looks like I would need to pic up a new header panel, grill, and head lamps. Also, on the older models, there is an extra turn signal socket on the front lights.

Can anyone confirm how these amber lights on the front operate? I know the side marker does not flash but do both sockets in the amber sections of the turn signal flash as well as act as running lights? maybe some pictures would help.

On the tail lights, adding another socket would be easy. I am fairly savvy with electrical wiring.

You may not care, a lot of people don't, but reverting to an entirely older model front end will likely kill the resale value of your truck.

did a little more research in the last hour and decided its just not worth it. I do want to change the grill out to a honeycomb pattern. This looks like it can be done a lot easier. Just going to buy one off ebay. Does anyone know if the duplicolo Toreador red is a close match to the OEM paint? My trucks paint is in excellent condition so there isnt a faded issue...
