suspension lift or body lift

i dont do much offroading in my 1996 Ranger 2.3L v4 XLT , but i want to put a lift on it just for that look. do you guys think i should throw down the money for a suspension kit or just have some body lifters put in. im thinking about lifting it 3 or 4 inches in the front and 2 or 3 in the back.. and for the back i could just use add a leafs right?

i would get a body lift and then some coil spacers and AAL for the back and you could run 33s no problem and it would look sweet

If you want it for looks get a body lift. A suspension lift changes the ride quality and if you get coil spacers you will defiantly know the difference.

Just get a body and a set of 31's and you'll be good to go.

x2.. body lift is the first thing I'd do, then coil spacers and instead of a add a leaf you could use a chevy drop shackle.. about the same price but it won't stiffen up your ride.

You will see the gap between the bed and the frame yes. But you can make gap guards or buy them.

alan if you wanted you could get a 2in coil lift and a 1 or 2in block or add aleaf for the rear for a little suspension clearance so you could run 33's i think youll be able to run 33's fine with just the body lift since you dont offroad that much

Some sort of suspension lift in the front to correct the ugly rake. Level or a bit doggin' is the only way to go.

A couple inches in the front and then a body lift. Add some 32's or 33's and it'll look damn good.

No. They will still rub. I would say at least 2" suspension to not rub with 33's. Maybe 3" lift.

im talking about 2in coils and a add aleaf with the 3in body lift with 33's and he wont scrub for average day driving.. forgot to mention that.. and hes gonna need some new rims because he cant run 33's with a stock rim the offset wont work.. he will be fine as long as he doesnt try to flex his suspension hard

The stock rims will work. I ran them with my 33's for a year until I bought my currant rims.

The only body lifts I have seen for my 97 are all over $200. All the other model rangers are cheaper, I dont know why ours is so much higher.

X2. I could do a BL in about 4 hours with a few people. I did my 6" suspension and axle swap in 3.5-4 hours.
