ok well i got tired of my ebrake sucking.....it was ok with the drum brakes because i could adjust it and make it work again...but with the disk brakes the cable was just to stretched and if i tried to adjust it any more it would pull one the ebrake pads to much and wear them out....well i fixed it...

Redneckstone 02-20-2010 12:54 PM

its really rare. mine was on it stock on the build sheet. i got a few from the junk yards to make mine work needed spare parts but sold the vehicle with it on it. so all gone now lol... kinda makes me mad

if your ebrake was really low, that is usually caused by the drums being out of adjustment....it doesnt take much to make the ebrake pedal low...just a thought

robert99ranger 02-20-2010 02:27 PM

Whats the thing on the inside of the hood that looks like a piece of wire with a ping pong ball at the end?

He has disc brakes.

Toreador4x4 02-20-2010 04:19 PM

even with discs, the e brake shoes have an adjuster inside for e-brake pedal feel

t5cents 02-20-2010 04:45 PM

ya i know but i replaced the ebrake shoes with brand new ones and adjusted the brakes out as far as they should be so they dont wear out to fast.....so they are just barley touching.....and you cant really adjust the cable on the expo axle like you could on the ranger axle....when the ebrake was off the cable flopped around and there wasnt any thing i could do about it....because the hook on the axle that the cable hooks on only goes back so far so no matter how much i adjusted the brake shoes the cable could only be pulled to a cirtin point.....so since there was slack in the cable there was no more adjusting i could do...so it was either this..a perminate fix or buy a new cable that would stretch out again...this cost me about 10 bucks....
