hi beam mod???

not sure where I should post this...so here goes. I've searched and searched for the high/low beam, mod that allows you to run both at the same time but can't find it anywhere. Anybody know where to find this mod?

what year truck do you have.

from like 01 and up the high and low are the same bulb so i dunno how you would run both..

do you mean the fog light mod that is when you turn your highs on the fogs also stay on..

and you can turn on the fog lights with no other lights on?

Just drop a set of 55w hella 500 driving lights on the front of your truck and your lighting issues will be resolved

When you push/click the multi switch forward it goes from low to hi but if you pull it back both are illuminated. You have to hold it there to keep them that way, it doesn't click in. You could modify the multi function switch(turn signal handle)wiring possibly. I just pull back on the switch, try it! You can tell the difference. If you have fog lights, do the fog light mod. With the fogs, low, and hi beams going I can see pretty damn well....silverstars all around.

Stock headlights are 55w. Get some 85w PIAA's or something decent.

actually there is a product on the market that i just saw in my four wheel parts catalog that allows you to run low beams and high beams together and if you purchase the add on module you can run fogs with your high and low beams also.

here is that part numbers for the high/ low beam module... it doesnt list the part number for this but the name of the product is called the brite box
here is the part number for the foglight module- BFH1

or with an 01-03 you could break one pin off of the fog light relay for free and splice up the multi function switch for free............

tHANKS FOR THE REPLIES. My Ranger is a '99..I've done the fog light mod aleady. What I was talking about is a mod that i've heard of that lets you run both hi and low beams at the same time...lwhen you pull the lever towards you.

I'm sure something could be done to the multi function (turn signal) switch so that you could click it forward for both the hi and low beams.

I'd be leery about doing this.Headlight bulbs get very hot with just one filament burning. With both on at the same time you might risk melting/deforming the plastic around the lamp socket.Didn't some guys have that problem when they went to hotter bulbs in their factory fog lamps?

all Rangers and most other vehicles that i know of have the same bulb as both.....unless it is special and has a second bulb, that is how vehicles are.....the only vehicle that i could think of that has a second bulb for the high beams is a Dodge Ram Sport......

as far as having the Low/High beams on at the same time, you do realize that it is NOT street legal to do so.....and i can assure you to expect a ticket for doing so.......if you look at those parts they listed above, they are listed as "off-road use only" parts...

Hmmm, ok....maybe it isn't such a good idea. Don't need any melted plastic, and sure don't want any tickets. Thanks guys.

02-06 explorers have seperate bulbs as do 03-07 Expeditions... you may be able to modify your front end for the 02-06 lamps...

youd have to be pretty dumb to keep them both on at the same time unless your one of those those people that doesnt dim when you pass a car in which case youd get a ticket even with jsut your highs on...

i don't think that is quite a good idea. on my old intrepid i did this mod...and whenever i used my headlights..the switch got extremely hott. even if i didn't use the fog lights witht he high beams...theres a way to wire a relay into it to reduce the heat, so if you do do this....try and find a way to use a relay..
