F-150 Cab on Ranger Frame

F-150 Cab on Ranger Frame.

So obviously we all have notice how small our truck is at least once after riding in our friends f150. And so I had a (bad/dumb) idea.

The opposite has been discussed before and plenty of material is on it (putting a Ranger cab on a F-150 Frame) but I was wondering if it was possible to put a F-150 cab on a ranger frame. This would allow one to run something insane like a 7inch extended control arm and it would only look slightly wider on a f-150. Also it would be so nice to have so much more room.

So I'm thinking 04 - now cab on a ranger frame. possible? Mechanically it doesn't seem to hard. either change the body mount location on teh frame or cut out the bottom of the f-150 cab and insert bottom of ranger cab on it. IDK.

isn't the F-150 cab WAY to wide?
i mean, i like a challenge, but just thinking about it makes my welding hand hurt.

when i said cut out the bottom, i meant like a strip. and weld in the section of the mounts of the ranger (that you would cut out from a ranger). also couldn't one just make a metal piece that comes off the from the frame and relocated the body mounts correctly?

i see what you saying, but to make that work, you'd have to widen the ranger frame, i don't think any mounts would still work.
to me, it seems like a headache to even measure something like that out.

Why not something like this (see attached photo).. If an F150 has a body lift, it only has six points of contact to the frame correct? I don't see (with adequate bracing in the ranger frame) why it wouldn't work.

To pull this off would take some serious work.
You might be able to pull it off, but I have the same issue as Alex.....my hand starts to hurt even thinking about it lol.

Where there is a welder and duct tape, there is a way.

Along a similar tangent, I have a 2000 ranger with a regular cab, can I swap it out with an extended cab?

You would need a longer frame.

Wouldn't the frame length cause some issues also?
