heated rear glass

My moms old explorer had it, my dads durango has it, lots of vehicles have it. SO why doesn't my ranger? I get tired of my back glass fogging up and having no way to defog it. So can anyone tell me if the back glass from say an explorer, or something of the like, matches a ranger?

Up until recently, no truck had heated glass. All you have to do is turn the heat on and aim the vents at the back window. Trust me I live in Michigan (cold winter) and it works fine in my extended cab.

To answer your question, no the glass will not fit....

try some anti fog. I can't remember what it is called. Made by the same company as rain X

I had a VW Golf that had no heat at all. I put that stuff on the inside and it kept the fog off. Now keeping ice off when it is 10* and your breath ices it up is a different story. Only sticking your head out the window ala Ace Ventura will help you there.

I just point my heater at the window and it works well. It'll melt snow and ice off of the outside, so what's the matter with doing that for foggyness.

it has to warm up before its effective. My girlfriends neon takes about 30 seconds to defrost the back window w/ the strips, my 4.0 supercab about 3 min and my old 4 banger single cab was about 4 – 5 till it was defrosted. Time would be the main reason.

its not the cold. its the humidity and heat. its just moist outside and with windows rolled up even the slightest bit of AC will fog it up. granted right after i clean it with glass cleaner its fine, but a week or so down the road it does it and then i cant see for crap to back up.

I bet it wouldnt do it if you went Scuba style with a wetsuit, mask, and airtanks.. that way your breath wont fog it all up :-p

Now.. you just need a way to cure the moisture problem.. perhaps, wrap your truck in a giant bubble of plastic? Bubble boy style.. yesh.. I can see it now.

Anyway, that is a bit of a problem, and that kit that was aformentioned might be jsut right for you, might be rather interesting getting it installed.. but I would love to hear how it goes.. we get icestorms in my area every winter, so any news is good news for defrosting!
