So....Train horns seem to be a quite popular mod for some of the nicer trucks...and I must admit it seems fun to shoot off a train horn at a ton of people...but I have a little bit of a different Idea..and I want to know if anyones tried it or has any input...

I was considering...getting a crank style ww2 Air raid siren..or even a little bigger of a siren...bed mounted..or even under bed mounted...with a small electric motor to Power it...switch controlled and maybe with some sort of dial power control so you can get that classic air raid sound!

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? or is the just a really bad Idea lol

 

The electric ones are all 240vac and they are the size of a large industrial washing machine. It would flip your truck over when it starts to wind up.

If it doesn't flip the truck over, you'll just get arrested.

 

your going to cause some pore ww2 vetran to have a heart attack with something like that, but thats a cool idea.

Haha. Some used to be powered by early versions of hemi's. And they were HUGE.

Get something like the old fire trucks used to have... with the turn crank.

 

want a loud horn? install an ocean liner blast horn.

 

My father in law has a siren from a war ship. It's a ww2 era, 120v about the size of a alternator and you will go deaf withing 10 feet of it.
We set it off at new years from outside the house and were inside with the door closed and it's still loud as hell.

I would be careful with something that sounds like an air raid siren, I don't know about where you live but down here that's pretty much what our tornado sirens are/ sound like and I don't know how happy the local law enforcement would be with u blaring it. I have semi air horns on my ranger under the bed and love them i need to go out one day and do a better job of running the line to the tank though. I also have a PA under the bed to and that may be perfect for what you are wanting. If your cell phone will let you put ringtones on it just put sirens and air raid sounds on it and blare it through the mic. Mine cost me 30 bucks at Radioshack.
