Removeable Back Window

Well I live in Florida where its nice about 10 months out of the year so I got to thinking it would be nice if my back window popped out easily.

My first thought was to make a plexi glass back window like someone else did on this site already then secure it in with velcro that way it pops in and out. This wouldnt be very secure though and may have leaking problems.

Any one have any ideas to secure it in better then velcro? My old mustang had a sunroof that would latch in place you just unlatch it then slide the glass panel into a leather bag for storage. Will do the bag thing with the back glass as well to keep it scratch free when it is out.

I know this idea is crazy so any tips and helpfull information is gladly welcomed or if you just want to say this idea is stupid and I'm a retard for wanting to do this feel free to.

Thx John

lol, your not a retard dude, you have a good idea. my first car had a sunroof and i love it.... i think it would be better to have a latch system like your old mustang, the velcro would leak too much. At least for the latch system it would have a rubber seal.

I know stylin trucks used to have a removeable rear window called the Breezer.
I contemplated getting it my self but didnt have the cash at the time.
I just searched ST again and they no longer carry the window, but i found the actual manufacturers website at www.breezerwindows.com, and the site is kinda up.
But they only have a phone number to call at the moment, something about site maintenance.

Not sure but i dont think that is a ranger but they may produce one still.

If you want it out it's not hard.... pop off the trim on the rear of the cab, unbolt the 6 or 8 nuts, take the window off... should only take a few minutes.

Convert a non-sliding rear window to a large rear power window.
How hard would that be to do?

What about a sport trac window? The size isn't exact but could you make it work?

just do it

i striped my interior very easy to pull window love the sound of the muffler lol but it dose smell of tail pipes and dust flys crazy like if you roll down the windows if your going to do it do the custom roll down like a old chvey blazer or like the sport trac no one has that yet.

The ST rear window is def possible. I've had the parts for over 2yrs now, but there's no way it's going to be a simple mod.

The breezer looks really cool. Here is a link to the install of one on a 250.

Looks pretty easy to install. I think I would still rather have something made of plexi glass though for weight factor and the fact that its not glass.
