Subaru Brat bed seats in a flareside ranger!
Hey yall! wanted to share a quick overview of how I installed Subaru bed seats in my ranger, if you're one of the lucky few to find a set, you should really consider this. they're a great conversation starter and loads of fun to cruise in!
I used the original unmodified seat frame from the brat, and almost all the mounting bolts fit. I welded two small pates in for the two outer rear bolts, and since the front bolt holes lined up perfect with that flat spot in the floor where there's no ribs, I added two trailer bumpers for spacers.
Everything but the seats themselves was coated in raptor liner, all hardware was replaced with stainless steel, and the bed floor mounting bolts were later painted black, didn't want the bolt heads full of bedliner.
Prepping for raptor liner, you can see the mounting holes and welded in plates here:
these seats didn't have lap belts with them, but I added them for some feeling of safety lol, the center square tube on the frame was welded on to mount the belts to.
finished bedliner and seat frame installed:
They're legal in North Carolina, but since they're original equipment from another vehicle I would assume they're legal all over the U.S.. the officers I've talked to agreed but were also hesitant. if someone knows more please tell me so I don't get a ticket lol.
somewhat practical, unique, and they look great in the back of a ranger:
do you know of anyone who has done this before? if so i'd love to read about it!
if you have any questions of your own let me know!

Very nice, Was the Raptor liner easy to apply? Also did you do the top of the bed (in the picture where someone is resting on) Or is that an add-on. Looking to do the same. Not sure if i go with Raptor or Huercules.

Highly recommend the raptor liner over anything else (other than something professionally installed). a complete kit with a the sprayer is about $100 on amazon. the reviews say its too thin but it works great for a small bed. just make sure to spray the bottom of the bed near the tailgate very thick, I chipped mine throwing an old ranger seat back there, not the products fault but my own.
the top pieces are the original trim pieces from the bed, I took them off and coated them individually. ill put some more pictures up of the process when I get home from work.

the spray gun they send makes it super easy and it applies evenly, gives you better texture than a roll-on in my opinion.
here's some more pics
halfway through applying bedliner:
bed rails, seat frames and a now indestructible Hug Barrel drink all bedlined:
bonus pic of the boys enjoying the brat seats at steak n shake!
