What ever you do, please don't just use sheet metal screws and screw one too your roof. PLEASE

No I was trying to steer away from that. Too much of a jeep look. I was thinking more along the line of a bar that connects to the bumper but I dont know if a LED bar would fit it. It said already has tabs for 3 lights...so see my dilemma

You should be able to make tabs under the grille and bolt them to a piece of steel tubing and mount your bar to that. I will be doing something along those lines after I do my body lift

Make tabs and mount to the existing holes with existing bolts behind the bumper. You can add a piece of angle iron to the tabs if you wanted to. I did that on my first "light bar" that had 4-Hella 500's and didn't put the angle iron on the tabs for the LED bar.

I gotta find a picture of the 4 lights but this is a general idea of the LED bar. Only picture I had left on my phone but I can dig up more

Just thinking out loud...
What about mounting it across the grille but towards the top of the grille, close and tight, reinforced in the rear.
From the description on EBay it should be around 2.5" in height, might not look too bad but will be different.
Mounting it from a bumper mounted light bar might be the same thing, if the light bar is high and wide enough you can mount it inside.

Mounting it on the roof or along the cowl vent will result in blinding you from the light reflected from the hood and no way to avoid it.

Someone smell wood burning..., no it is just the high temps out here in SoCal.

Internet isn't allowing me to post pics atm but I put a 20" behind the top slat of my grill (same style as yours) and it has a few inches on either side. wouldn't think you'd lose much if any light. pretty easy and came out real clean.

Where on your truck do you particularly want to install them?

I was thinking of getting one too to be installed inside the grille to deter thieves (couple of cases of stealing them here). A guy here installed 30" 180w LED bar on his '08 Explorer did awesome job. He told me to stay away from some cheap chinese made and check Rigid industries or Autoanything
