Plan for my truck,,

I have $700 saved up so far, and I earn over $180 a week from checking at tom thumb. I have to wait till my 18th birthday to do this but I just need to make sure it would all work. There are about 5 more weeks till my birthday so I could have $1600 by then, maybe $400 more from realitives as presents.

I want to get the3" Pro Comp Lift so it prolly will be about a grand for the lift and get it installed.

and then get these 30" General Grabber AT^2 tires so about another $400

hopefully my friend's mechanic will hook me up with better prices and cheaper installation, Im hoping to do all this for less then a grand if I can but w/e,,

so will this all work? anybody have this setup or similar on a 2.3L?

oh no.. not General Grabber A/T's.. My truck came with those when I bought it, I got RID of them within 10k miles, bad traction tire. Oh and they had TERRIBLE tread wear, new when I bought the truck and were worn when I got new tires, no kidding. I always had to get my wheels re-balanced too.

The were just regular A/Ts.. doesnt matter though, those are just a poor excuse for A/T's.. go with the proven BFG A/T, or Bridgestone Dueller .

uh... problem. when i was poking around ready to start my modding i looked into a 3" spindle + wheels and tires and all that. and it came out to a LOAD more than a grand.

dont mean to raid on your parade or anything, just be ready for that. i'd agree with Channing and say if you can install it yourself, do it. that'll save you some cash.

who knows though, maybe you'll get a great deal and prove me wrong. if you do, <shades of wayne's world> im not worthy!!! eheh. good luck with it all dude. pics pics pics of when it's done!

He already has the wheels just needs tires and lift. However are you planning on lifting the back? you will need aal's but 1600 should cover it all. If you can install the lift yourself you will save atleast 300 and that could go towards a programmer so you can adjust for the new tires.

doesnt the kit come with a 1.5" blocks for the back? or could I get aals but would I need an extension on the driveshaft?

should be pretty cheap install, the guy does jobs on the side to make some extra cash out of his garage and does pretty good work on my friend's truck,,

and the programmer is on the to do list but after a complete tune up, I prolly need new plugs by now, k&n filter, replace this cheap **** oil jiffy lube puts in there with synthetic, and remove the silencer,,

I was quoted 1300 by a local place for Fabtech spindles with AAL in the back and new shock all around, installed.

I'm going with something else, I think.

Depends on the company you go with. Fabtech is 429.00 from performance lifts and then you need to buy the 2inch aals which are 55 bucks. Dont get blocks get aal's. You can also buy Doetsch spindles for 300.00 but make sure you dont use the supplied blocks spend the money for aal's.

NOTE... Remember that you have a coil spring suspension and not torsion bar. XL's and XLT's come with coil spring suspension and Edge/ level 2's/fx4 have torsion bar suspension. When you buy a kit make sure that its for a coil sping suspension ( your truck)

You can definatly install this kit yourself just read up on it and take your time. You just need some basic rachets and hand tools and a hand grinder. Follow all the directions and you should be fine.

hmm so what do I need just to lift the front 3"? just the spindles?
#589801? any way I can order just the spindels? or do I have to get the whole kit for $431.28 and then later could I get the #663420 coils and just replace the stock coils?

and then order aals seperately and any brands that you recommend?

3" spindle $300 shipped, 2" blocks and u-bolts $50 shipped
And the install isnt hard to do as long as you have the tools for it (the way it always goes)

Aight, so all I need would be the 3" spindles and 2" blocks, and 31" tires, if I want to I can upgrade my shocks, but dont have to right now,, this shouldnt affect anything like the driveshaft right?

At some point you have to sacrifice somwhere and to have a bigger better looking truck it will be a sacrifice in gas milage but you wont notice it with that little of a tire. When I put my 33's on I didnt notice it but once I get the 37's mounted up I think I will....who knows
