Lowered or Lifted

Alright guys...
For so long I've wanted to lift my truck, being in So Cal that's all I've really been getting ideas from...
But now being on the Forum there's a whole new world of Rangers that I thought I wouldn't like.
My truck is either going low or going high, I've always liked both.
But I'm definitely loving the lowered look.
My truck now:

Then I think it would look good lowered. But it's all in what you want. Do you want to look good on just the street or do you want to look good on and off the street?

whippersnapper02 08-27-2009 05:42 PM

Since you have T-bars you can't go too low. I don't think there are even lowing kits for Rangers with bars. I vote lift.

08XLT4x4 08-27-2009 05:42 PM

if you lower it, try and find an STX bumper and valance!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Smakes 08-27-2009 05:44 PM

yea what keith said. if you want to go low your gonna need to drop some money on a coilover swap to get that low

the 2nd pic is bagged tho to be tuckin that much. wich would still be more than i coilover conversion i think

TREMOR CHICK 08-27-2009 05:49 PM

You guys are quick.
And I'm thinkin about airbaggin it? :scared1:

whippersnapper02 08-27-2009 05:50 PM

You would still have to convert to coilovers up front.

First check if you have T bars. I'm sure you do though. Just look under your truck and see if you have bars mounted about under your seat that go to the front suspension.

rangerman16 08-27-2009 05:51 PM

i go with lowered

Smakes 08-27-2009 05:52 PM

yea. youll need coils nomatter what to go down. toobad you dont have an ibeam truck where slamming it is easy as HELLL

rangerman16 08-27-2009 05:53 PM

im probably going to bag my truck now that i got my 20s! so id go with bag but make sure you convert coilovers if you have tbars!! you have to

For sure...I want the clean look on the streets. :biglaugh:

Lowered looks great, but you'll spend a lot more lowering it than lifting it because of the above mentioned reasons.

:biglaugh:well if you lower it u wont have door handles so i vote lift haha

I totally understand that...and I'm def down for having a lil project going. I feel like I'd get tired of my truck being lifted.
There's gonna be a lot more to play around with if I lower it.
If I was to lift my truck I wouldn't be going pre-runner or making it all off-road ready.

Smakes 08-27-2009 06:05 PM

should just go with a static drop!

korey89 08-27-2009 06:06 PM

Bagging it would be $$$ and lots of time, especially since you've got torsion bars like most of us instead of coils. Pretty much the only somewhat cheap option you have is gonna be lifting it. Fabtech makes 3" lift spindles and an add a leaf for the back, they are whats on my truck. The only ****ty thing is you're obviously gonna be slower and MPG will drop. Inside the drivers door jam theres a sticker with info about the truck, theres one that says "axle" and its got two numbers or one letter and a number code saying what it is. Go look at your truck and see what it says, then we can see what gears you have in your rear end.

What static drop exists for torsion bars? None that I know of

Smakes 08-27-2009 06:13 PM

static drop after a coil over swap trent. i wasnt talking about a kit

well the front wont be static because the coilovers are adjustable but the back will be static
