I am pretty sure the computer won't work. You will need to contact the DMV about swapping an engine. Here in Oregon You can do it as long as it is from a vehicle of the same year or newer.

I doubt Ohio has any law saying you can't do that.

You would need to get one from a vehicle that had the same engine. F150 or Bronco, i would guess from the 80's

motor mounts, new rear diff, drive shaft, different suspension on the front end, because your adding alot of weight, probly gonna need new transmission crossmembers

You are looking at a custom set up. It will be custom prices. It will vary greatly depending on wether or not you are doing it yourself.

i think you would be better off doing a 302 swap. you can use explorer 50 mounts exhaust manifolds, trans driveshaft and rear i believe. takes alot of the guess work out of it. plus you wont twist your frame to pieces. and unless your building a drag truck then a 302/306/331/347 will give you more than enough power for a ranger.

do some more research before you go about thinking this. ive been researching a 302 carb in a ranger for awhile. its no cake walk

Then it looks like you will only be paying for parts and you have the labor covered. So how much you spend will depend on what you buy. New/used on sale or retail.

You are doing soemthing that not many have tried and no one has documented that I can find. No one is really going to be able to answer general questions on the swap.

Explorer mounts should work. 351Ws are basically the same as 302s for MOST of the area below the heads (yeah I know, the block is wider, but not at the mounts). Headers won't swap, oil pan won't, and a few other things but there will be lots of fabricating to do.
