So recently i installed new drl bar headlights and replaced the fog light bulbs on my 2011 ranger sport rwd, and needless to say this jumpstarted my love for modding my truck.
Im thinking of doing a 3 inch lift and the normal 31 inch tires and rims etc, but i wanted to ask if yall had any ideas for some cheaper mods i can do now until i have the money for the bigger stuff. Any ideas?
If you proceed with a 3" lift, I'd suggest some 33" tires. Being a sport, you could probable clear 31s as is with a bit of a torsion bar crank. Sadly the Sports did sit 2" lower from the factory than the Edge did. I cleared 31s on stock wheels with zero rub and no cranking of the torsion bars on my Edge.

Yeah I noticed my ranger rides lower already. I'm going with a wulf torsion bar crank for 3 inches in the front and new shackles for the back 2 inches. Do you think i should even buy new rims? If im being honest i think i could just paint these rims and just grab new tires

1998 ford ranger xlt 4 x 4 supercab rusted only kept the drivetrain. Got new frame Now Betsy is a 1944 Ford GPW ranger with a 5 inch lift kit and 17 inch rims with 33 inch tires
The nice thing about modification, you do it at your pace and pocket cost. mine right now is just about a little over $10,000

You couls definitely do that, But the problem with putting too meaty of a tire on the stock wheel is the severe lack of negative offset and the tire will seem sucked into the wheel well. All in what you prefer though. Plus most factory wheels are only 7" wide. Running a tire much wider than stock can end up "ballooning" the tires and cause them to wear more in the center of the tread.
Be very careful with cranking the torsion bars too much, as it can really throw off suspension geometry. I'd definitely pick up a set of adjustable camber bolts to get it aligned correctly.
