Remounting leaf shackles for lift?

Would cutting off then rewelding your leaf shackles in the back give you more of a lift? And also would switching to explorer leaf springs give you lift also?

Hmmm...not sure how much room you have on the frame to move the mount. I just used longer shackles. For each 2" longer shackle you get an inch more of lift -- but you don't want too long a shackle. I got 2" longer shackles to get that inch of lift.

the explorer leafs should give u a lift...for some reason, the 4x2 edge's rear sits higher than a ranger xlt 4x4.....maybe if u swapped them out...maybe

relocating isn't pointless but it is kind of a pain in the *** and not worth it. If you are going to relocate your hanger you might as well move the front one forward 6 inches and then throw in some 63" chevy springs for a good 3" of lift. All you have to do is grind off 4 rivits and drill 2 new holes in the frame. The springs can be had for $100-150 bucks, any 88-98 chevy half ton will do.
