please....we have a billion threads JUST like this.....please do some searching....

but.....I've had a Dynomax Ultra Flow Oval, Flowmaster Original 40 series, Flowmaster Super 40, and a Magnaflow.

Out of all....the Super40 sounded best with a tailpipe. And the Original 40 sounds better dumped....on my SOHC 4.0.

On a OHV 4.0, i found that Super 40 sounds KILLER! dumped. I know this, becuase my old muff went on one, and it's dumped.

I'm with shane...

Although free is a good price.. There may be a reason it's free... IE: sounds like crap...

Usually you have to pay for the sound you want (flowmaster)

I have a magnflow SI/SI..i have a standerd cab with side exit exhaust...I like it, im wanting to dump it though...

WIll a turn down blow the exhaust away from the truck or will it come up under the truck??

I have about 12 in of pipe or so the curves for the dual tip, if i dump it w/a turn down wont it sound pretty much the same...cuz the short pipe i have??

You can buy and run a cutoff, so you can have the no muffler sound but youll still have a muffler

Spintech Pro Street muffler.

Flowmaster is such a crappy muffler, just paying for the name, you can get the exact muffler(inside baffle design) for 30 bucks

Yea....a turndown is WAYYY better than not having a turndown. It'll make your exhaust actually exit out from under the truck, rather than soundwaves bouncing everywhere and giving you a headache.

Sure there's Flowmaster knocks offs, but knock offs of ONLY the Original 40's...the muffler that Flowmaster sells for $45. All the recent mufflers, you can't get knock offs of(Super40, 50 series, Super44, HushpowerII, etc...)

Super 40 sounds real good imo. Glasspacks sound alright and are pretty darn loud.

Here are some clips of my old exhaust set up(glass packs): https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=50749

If you want LOUD then you could install 2 high-flow cats running to a (depending on how loud you want it) 1-chamber or 2 chamber muffler, with the least amount of exhaust tubing possible I.E. dumped under the cab.

Throw it on and see how you like it. Use those kink-free band clamps like below...that's what I do...no leaks either....

Yea....do it.

That's how I did my $20 muffler when i did exhaust. Summit had a $50 rebate on the Dynomax I ordered.....so i got my $20 muff, had it hung with piping, and using clamps so i can remove it if i didn't like it. That started the crazy obsession with sound....lol.

I dont know about any of the new florwmasters but the original ones were a maze of baffles and turns the exhaust gasses had to pass through. They flowed better than almost any OEM muffler and had a good sound to them but there were/are plenty of other mufflers that flowed better.

any straight threw muffler will flow better then flow master...just adding a muffler of any sort will not net you anything but sound.

Borla. Done and done. Best sounding exhaust you'll ever put on your truck. Beats the HELL out of a flowmaster or anything else.

Borla is good ****. Gibson is a cheaper option but also has a straight-through design.
