fog lights are low and point down to cut through the fog. if they are higher up, all it does is gets stopped by the fog directly in front of you.

i wouldn't do that with the grill you have. there is too much plastic and not much light would shine through. you might have to go with an after market kit and mount them below the front bumper. the generation after your had a air deflector that had a couple of cutouts but i'm not sure if that lower plastic piece would mount to your bumper since they are two different styles with mounting points.

you could mount them in the two holes under your grill but you'd be limiting your truck height so the fogs would work properly.

Fog lights are wired through your headlights so when the highbeam comes on a switch turns the foglights off, unless you mod it not to like I did

how do you mod it to run the fog lights and high beams at the same time?

There is a “How-To” on this site that tells it all…

Me, i don’t get the lighting behind the grille, FOG, I like them and extra lights but not behind the grille. IMHO...

but if you already have fog lights then behind the grille is a convenient option.

plus the extra lighting is nice, theyre adjustable, and its nicer looking then having em cluttering up your bumper.

agreed. I didn't want to have anything extra out in front of my truck

I saw "hidden lights" and thought vacuum operated light covers like on some 1st gen camaros. Don't know how that would work on newer rangers, but it'd be interesting to see on a 1st gen
