Low rider!? I can't stand low riders. The reason is because they become trailer queens. I run the bejesus out of my truck. That's what a truck's for: to work. But I also like it to look good as well.

Nothing's changed...

That title says it all. mention an idea and still get it rammed down your throat and called either a silly low rider or a ricer. Which is stupid and imature bullsh1t. The man asked for an Idea or 2, and some of you's try to turn his truck into yours. What he decides to do is his choice. Cory, don't be afraid to exp. and ask questions. there's plenty of technical info here, and project logs to look up.

Yeah I have been reading a lot of the project logs. I am getting a lot of great ideas. I think I might have to start seriously thinking about a 3" BL and some 33"er's. Have any of you swapped your front end for a different look? I really like the 2001 XLT front end, but I don't seem many off-road guys changing their front ends. I would also be interesting in learning more about the re-gearing after installing the BL and 33's. Keep the suggestions coming I am enjoying these comments.

Thanks.

Body Lifts are a pretty easy alternative to getting bigger meats under your truck and lots of people do it. Unlike some trucks it actually looks good on Rangers IMO, not too much frame or anything. Front end swaps aren't AS widely done but they are still done here and there. Idk about other people, i would love to swap my front end, I just have too many other things i need to spend money on before I worry about making it look good.

shut the **** up.

I'm not trying to turn his into mine, i like mine being mine. He said offer a suggestion, I said SAS it joking around. Its a very long, expensive journey.

and low riders are silly just for the record. They're useless and there rests my case.

Yeah I like chrome on my truck, just personal preference. Front end swaps are getting more common now, its actually really easy. You can have yours done for a bout 250-300 bucks before paint.

I have been researching body lifts since you guys mentioned them and so far have found a couple for the 98 4x4. I think a lot of guys here and on other forums use the lift from performance accessories. I found it at Tellico for under $200. I want to buy manual hubs from Tellico too, so I might have to do that. Is the performance accessories BL a good one? Is there a different one I should look at? Also will I need to get new (different) rims if I run 33's? I'm sure I will, but asking just in case.

Thanks

You dont have to get new wheels, i ran stockers with 285/75-16 tires, which are about a 33". I was just lacking money, you can get new wheels if you would like. Performance Accessories is a good brand, most of us are running them, i have one on my 99, and its still there after 2 and a half years of hard service, granted some of the blocks aren't still vertical, but that can be changed and its all my fault on how i drive.

Someone is looking to buy my Manual hubs, the ones from tellico i have 3, 2 are basically new, ones pretty damn close. I'll sell em to you if he falls back if you want

Yeah, I meant that pretty much. And I'm giving up on a ranger for now and getting a nice fullsize.

oh yeah, I didn't notice you were from Seattle, sorry. I got a good idea today. I think I am going to add one of those lock pads to my drivers door next. I think I can wire it into my existing automatic locks and somehow reprogram it to a new code. What do you guys think?

Yeah I haven't seen any mention of it on here. I looked at ebay and they have one that works like the clicker on a radio frequency of some sort and it actually sticks to the outside of the car door with an adhesive of some sort. I don't think I would like that much, but at the same time I am very nervous about cutting my metal doors as well.

I've talked about doing that as well... I like the adhesive one 'cause you don't have to cut anything. I think someone on here has that on on their tailgate? It just programs into your remote frequency and you can put it anywhere on the truck. Much better than cutting holes IMO
