Cutting on the yellow line on both sides of the spare so my 32" spare will tuck up in that area like the stock one did? right now it hits the frame rails and stops so it hangs down an extra 4" or so. Would it need reinforcement or would it be fine?

No one? Am I the only one with an over sized spare who wants to keep his bed space?

I'm have the same issue... You could cut the frame, but I would reinforce it..

I'll be building a spare carrier off of the bumper if I put a topper on the truck, or a tailgate style if I don't.

Well see..

Cut it. Just make sure to gusset what metal is left Kyle.

Frames are a tricky subject... They're built in the exact way not to be messed with... I've learned a lot from my Welding instructor about proper ways to weld on frames and modify them. Just be careful.

yeah, a tailgate style carrier wont work because my bikes rear tires hang over the tail gate and just barely rest on it so not having that extra 1.5' bed length with it down wont work for me. guess ill need to draw up some gussets to have cut from some of that 3/16 i have left and plasma away! God, i hate being 1.5 hours from all my good tools.
