Shane did it, but he doesn't get on here much anymore so I'll have to ask him... Last time I talked to him about it, he told me he had to bake the lights to separate the glue.

ok, i went back to the factory style fog lights. i decided this "mod" wasn't as good as i thought. in fact, it just made people more pissed off because the lack of the bulb "surround" made the light scatter everywhere. this is one mod that backfired.

I'm going to do this the next day it's not raining here. The light output is just ridiculous.

I don't believe that light has the same surround in it as the 01-03. This mod I think only pertains mostly to 01-03...

It shouldn't be glued together. It's just a few clips and the back of the lens pulls out. I'm thinking about doing this mod here in the next hour since it's not raining.

Dual filament bulbs don't fit in the fog socket. Only sinlges... That's why 9005's fit. the 9005 bulb is actually a headlight bulb, so that's already a gain over the 9145.

I have 2004 edge with square foglights, can't figure out how to get the dang fog lights off the valance to get them apart and take the surround thing off.
There are 2 plastic tabs, an adjustment screw, 1 other bolt, and 2 nuts with a metal washer looking thing, locked on by plastic tabs... hard to explain without taking a picture of it,
I'll try to get a pic up to explain. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get it off, or if this mod can even be done to an 04, before I break something and waste time and money.
I suppose switching out the 9145 with the 9005 would suffice, but I just want to see what it looks like without the surround, I don't have off-road lights, and want as much light as possible for off-roading, until I get some.

I switched my bulbs for 9005's and heres a picture. Headlights are on but you can still tell where they are, snow drift blocking them a bit though. Edge square fogs btw, cell pic.

Wow, haha, that's friggin' bright. Get flashed a lot by oncoming traffic thinking you are "brighting" them?
Thanks for posting the pic, that gives me an idea of what I'll get with just the light swap.

IDK what youre talking about, alot of oem halogen fogs don't even have a shroud. I got out in front of the truck to check it out and it looks fine..it only looks slightly brighter, nothing compared to the obnoxious trend of running HID's in halogen lamps. The difference is way more noticeable from behind the wheel. The beam is scattered horizontally alot more (just what I wanted) and reaches a little further straight ahead and that's it. And that's WITH my fogs aimed as high as they'll go and wired straight to the battery .
Its one of the best mods Ive done in a while. This is with a 9145. Maybe your beam scatters everywhere because youre running a 9005, idk?
